Beer Ideas For Your 2007 Fantasy Football Draft

By: FantasyFootballGoat.com

In one of my leagues we have a tradition where the previous years winner brings the beer. I thought I would take a few minutes to share a few suggestions I am going make to the lucky son of a beach who beat me and won the league championship last year.

Newcastle
- Back in 1997 I visited England with the local military outfit and discovered this tasty brew. Not only does it taste damn good but it was clear after lots of Newcastle Brown Ale, barely four hours of sleep, and a 3 mile run the next morning, this stuff doesn’t hurt the next morning either.

It cost a few extra bucks too, but hey I’m not buying.

Also, be careful. It goes down easy and packs a punch. You don’t want to get to sloppy and draft like an idiot (it will be a loooooong season).

Rolling Rock Green Light
- I found it one night when I decided I wasn’t in the mood to spend sixteen bucks for a twelver of Newcastle that night. It caught my eye and $9.59 later I was on my way home.

It comes in a bottle, as most good beer does, and is very light and refreshing (cheesy but true). Almost comparable to Heineken.

As a side benefit, for those of you like to keep the midsection to a minimum, Green Light clocks in at 91 calories and 2.6 carbs. Good old fashioned semi-guilty free drinking. What could be better on draft day?

Pick something strong and shitty from RateBeer.com for the lushes. My thinking here is that the lushes will gravitate towards the strong stuff and stink up their draft sheet (just a hunch, bud a good one). You might have to wait a little longer for them to make their picks closer to the end of the draft, but there will be more players available for you.

Check out RateBeer.com and find some put-some-hair-on-your-back-cheap malt liquor. That should do the trick!

There you have it. You shouldn’t go wrong with any of these brews. Each one can add even more fun and strategy to an already to an already fun and strategic occasion. Just remember, be careful! I’ll say it again, you don’t want to get to sloppy and draft like an idiot cuz it could be a loooooong not so fun fantasy football season.
