Thoughts on Playing Post Season Fantasy Football
You know playing fantasy football during the regular season is great. But, as those familiar with post season fantasy football can tell you, the post season can be just as exciting.
Most post season leagues play about the same as regular season game but with a few exceptions.
First, one line-up is drafted and lasts throughout the playoffs. No need to set your line-up each week.
This is also one of the reasons our leagues starts team quarterbacks. If a quarterback goes down you’re still in business. Plus is keeps things interesting.
Second, the number of games played by each player becomes critical to your teams success. Not only do you need to select a quality player, but now the goal is to get those players whose teams will be able to advance for the chance add more points.
Players likely to be targeted this post season are the those wearing Patriots uniforms such as Tom Brady and Randy Moss. Not only can they score big, but, considering that they are the odds on favorite to win it all, they have the potential to score big in three games.
For me, the real value lies in identifying the players on those three through six seeded teams. They not only have the potential to play three games but even four.
Considering how volatile and closely matched the NFC is, any one of the teams playing this weekend could make a nice run and provide you with a large smile on your face come February.
I’m sure there are a million different ways to play in the post-season - you can share them in the comments below if you’d like - but without getting into to much detail thats pretty much it.
Anyway, I just wanted to get your juices flowing a little bit and get the conversation started. Also, be on the lookout for my post season picks this week.
Now get out there and start making some calls or sending out emails. See if you can get the league together for one more draft. If not, check online. A simple Google search should pop up a few tourney’s. I will probably check out the nfl/challenge/free2?icampaign=PC_FPB0001″>NFL.com Playoff Challenge. If I hear anything else I will let you know.
