-I’m baffled this three-way Jason Kidd trade is still being floated around, it makes NO sense for the Trail Blazers. But it does have massive fantasy impact. While Kidd would put up similar numbers in Dallas, Jarrett Jack and Channing Frye would probably start in New Jersey, and I guess Portland would insert Devin Harris as their starting point guard. But Portland doesn’t really need another point guard, and Devin Harris isn’t that much of an improvement over what they have now, is he?
-Damon Stoudamire has decided to sign with the Spurs, and given Tony Parker’s injury he will step right into their starting lineup. I can’t imagine he’s anything more than a role player in San Antonio, but he will be a short-term solution if you need point guard help.
-Carmelo Anthony missed his fifth straight game last night because of a sprained ankle. He’s still day-to-day and his owners have no real choice other than to hold onto him and hope he returns soon.
-A warning to Jose Calderon owners, T.J. Ford is close to returning to practice. A return to game action won’t be for a while, so you have time to trade Calderon while his value is high.
-LeBron James sprained his ankle in the second quarter of the Cavs game with Portland on Wednesday. He’s a game-time decision for Thursday’s contest in Seattle, but the ankle didn’t seem to be a problem last night. He scored 37 points, 17 in the fourth quarter.
-The Chicago Tribune is reporting Ben Gordon is confident he will return to action on Saturday against Sacramento.
